1908-1991Nacido en Nueva York. Ayudante de direccion desde 1932 y director de mas de cien peliculas desde 1937, primero para Republic hasta 1944, mas tarde para Columbia hasta 1948, y despues hasta 1956 para Universal. A medida que pasaba de una productora a otra los presupuestos de sus peliculas iban siendo mas holgados, por lo que no es de extranar que su ultimo western, que es tambien su ultima pelicula, El gran Jack, sea la de presupuesto mas amplio y, dicho sea de paso, la mejor. Sherman es, sin lugar a dudas, uno de los grandes especialistas del western. Una ojeada a su filmografia hace innecesarias otras explicaciones; entre 1937 y 1943 trabaja a un ritmo frenetico para satisfacer las necesidades de algunas de las estrellas del genero, destacando, en particular, su dedicacion a la serie The Three Mes quiteers. 5 Cybook
I.Premier ebook (appareil de lecture) européen, le Cybook est conçu par la société française Cytale et commercialisé entre janvier 2001 et juillet 2002. Le Cybook utilise le système d’exploitation Windows CE de Microsoft, le navigateur Internet Explorer et un logiciel de lecture propriétaire basé sur le format OeB (open ebook). Le téléchargement des livres s’effectue à partir du site web de Cytale, suite à des partenariats avec plusieurs éditeurs et sociétés de presse. Cytale développe aussi deux autres modèles, le Cybook Pro, à destination des gros consommateurs de documents, et le Cybook Vision, à destination des personnes malvoyantes. Cytale cesse ses activités en juillet 2002, après avoir vendu un millier de machines, un chiffre très inférieur aux pronostics. Les livres sont également proposés sur carte amovible, la ’BibliCarte’, au format OeB [open ebook]. Commercialisée principalement aux Etats-Unis, la tablette est annoncée en rupture de stock en octobre 2006. En juillet 2007, Bookeen dévoile la nouvelle version e-ink / e-paper de sa tablette baptisée ’Cybook Gen3’. Cette machine opère désormais sous plateforme Linux et dispose d’une suite logicielle comparable à la version antérieure. Elle se distingue particulièrement par son poids - 174 grammes - et par une autonomie de lecture d’un mois sans rechargement. L’écran, monochrome, affiche quatre nuances de gris.
